The Consumer Product Safety Commission has authorized the recall of a chest of drawers over risks they pose to young children. The Hodedah HI4DR 4-drawer chests are reportedly not stable when they are not properly secured to the wall and could easily fall on and trap kids.
The chest of drawers were sold at retail shops including Walmart, Home Depot and Amazon. The authorities said the drawers could fall on kids and possibly trap them, causing injuries or even death. There have been, though, no reported accidents relating to the drawers being recalled.
Those who possess the dressers are urged to stop using them if they have not been properly anchored to the wall.
The company, Hodedah, will supply free anti-tip anchoring kits to the affected consumers. They can also be provided with pre-paid shipping labels so that they can remove the chest’s drawer slides and return the dresser to the firm for a full refund and discard the rest of the dresser.
Anyone with a query on the recall can reach the firm toll-free at 855-463-3324 as from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. They can also email at Recalls@Hodedah.com.
