Donte Gibson, Audrey Gibson Sentenced in Dangerous Drug Importation Case

Donte Gibson, Audrey Gibson Receive Jail Time Following 2018 Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

Akron, Ohio (April 28, 2020) РDonte L. Gibson, 41, and Audrey J. Gibson, 36, of Akron were sentenced on Thursday for conspiracy to import fentanyl and carfentanil from China into the United states as well as firearms and money laundering violations. The two were among nine people sentenced in this case. 

Donte and Gibson were reportedly the leaders of the ring who, between May 2016 and February 2018, bought fentanyl and carfentanil from China over the internet and had them shipped to different locations in the area of Akron-Canton via the U.S. Postal Service. The two also directed the co accused persons to open post office boxes throughout the Akron-Canton area so that they could pick up the packages for them. The Gibsons were to then distribute the drugs to others so that they could sell them in the area.

Donte was sentenced to 300 months in prison with five years of supervised release, while Audrey was sentenced to 130 months in prison with 3 years of supervised release.

Others sentenced in the matter are;

29-year-old Ajarae C. Hisle of Lorain, sentenced to one month in prison and seven months of home confinement on February 19th, 2019 on one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute fentanyl and carfentanil.

30-year-old Jamar Jackson of Lorain, sentenced to 57 months in prison on February 1st, 2019 on one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute fentanyl and carfentanil.

22-year-old Garret R. Frantz of North Canton, sentenced to one day in prison and eight months of home confinement on January 28th, 2019 on one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute fentanyl and carfentanil.

56-year-old Lisa A. Richardson of Akron, sentenced to 51 months in prison on February 28th, 2019 on one count each of conspiracy to possess and distribute fentanyl and carfentanil and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

24-year-old Derrick A. Adams II of Akron, sentenced to 120 months in prison on January 24th, 2019 on one count each of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute fentanyl and carfentanil and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

59-year-old Lori E. Martin of Barberton, sentenced to two years of probation on January 28th, 2019 on one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

23-year-old Dontaysha S. Gibson of Akron, sentenced to 15 months in prison on January 16th, 2019 on one count each of conspiracy to possess and distribute fentanyl and carfentanil and money laundering.
